The mindful practice of yoga can be nourishing and healing in body, mind and spirit. And yet, why are there injuries caused exclusively from yoga, like SI joint dysfunction and yoga butt? Come empower yourself and dive deep into biomechanics to help strengthen and prevent unnecessary injuries in yoga that can also be easily applied in fitness and other physical activities. Come with an open heart and lots of questions about your practice.
What you'll learn at the yoga anatomy workshop:
How the body is connected as a whole system and how it relates to mobility, injuries and pain
A deeper understanding of the biomechanics of yoga and the 8 major joints in the body and how to exercise, practice yoga and move in a way that keeps them healthy and safe
Common yoga injuries and how to prevent them
Listen to each other's questions so we can learn and support each other as a community

About the Presenter, Hang Nhan
Hang and her partner, Sarah, co-founded saigon om, a wellness school offering all things relating to wellness between Canada, Vietnam and Australia. Their offerings include yoga, Qi Gong and mindfulness teacher training, mentoring, and specialty workshops.
With her extensive fitness, mixed martial arts and acupressure background, along with her deep love for yoga and Qi Gong, Hang has made it her passion to educate folks from all walks of life on the biomechanics of yoga. Don't miss out on her lively and fun teaching style while she's in Kingston.
