Meridian-Based Yin Yoga Series
Yin yoga is a slow-paced practice with long held postures. It encourages us to slow down and cultivates stillness to get to know ourselves, explores the philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and creates the conditions to release deeply held tension in the body and mind.
Meridians are energy channels or pathways in the body, based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Each class in this series is designated to one of the twelve major meridians and the poses are carefully crafted and sequenced to open and balance the particular energy channel and the body's yin and yang.

Qi Gong Series: The Five Treasures
This easy to follow sequence, called the Five Treasures, is a wonderful and quick way to cultivate the Three Treasures of Life, a Tao philosophy that has been around for thousands of years. Loosely translated, the Three Treasures of Life helps us to find balance and harmony every day as we cultivate and work on 1) maintaining our Jing, original essence at birth 2) circulating the Qi, energy of life 3) uplifting our Shen, spirit.
In her humorous way, Hang will take you on a treasure hunt as she introduces one treasure in each video to teach you the treasures and to also help activate and release bound up energy. We suggest that you follow the six videos in sequence each day when you first begin. After that you may want to just practice the last video which includes all five treasures or choose a treasure that you enjoy the most.

Qi Gong Series: 8 Pieces of Brocade (Ba Duan Jin)
Welcome! Did you know that you're about to embark on one the of oldest and most widely practiced sequences in the world? Shaolin monks practice it. Scholars practice it. TCM doctors practice and prescribe it. Thousands of ordinaire folks like us practice it. Why is it so popular? Because it helps us connect to ourselves and experience a sense of well-being. How blessed are we to practice such traditional and strong practice. When you're ready, come join in Hang on this uplifting journey to cultivate balance, peace, harmony and have fun! That's right. Life is just too short to not have fun and smile when we still have our teeth!
Ba Duan Jin is roughly translated as “eight silken movements” or “eight pieces of brocade”. It composes of eight separate Qi Gong movements. Its origin and development remains unknown. It has been traced as far back as 300 B.C. in Yellow Emperor’s traditional Chinese medical text. Some Qi Gong scholars and historians believe it was developed in the fifth century, some in the tenth century as well as the twelfth century to increase soldier vitality.
Despite its various origins, Ba Duan Jin has serendipitously evolved to meet and help with modern sedentary lifestyle, which involves move sitting and less moving. The Ba Duan Jin as a whole is broken down into eight separate exercises, each focusing on cleansing and stimulating a different physical area and various qi meridians. The 8 Brocades are also wonderful for anyone with lower back issues. You do not need to practice all 8 Brocades if you don’t have a lot of time. You may want to pick one or two that are most relevant to you in the moment and practice each portion 5-10 times. But I do suggest to always start with #1 Bring Earth to Heaven and to always end with #8 Heaven Falling. And, did you know that you can practice Ba Duan Jin sitting or standing up?

Qi Gong Series: Traditional Chinese Medicine
A 30-video series focused on the 12 main meridians, or energy pathways, within the body. When we start to really listen to our body, we learn to understand its needs and we start to make that deep connection with our emotional and mental bodies and learn to find harmony within us and around us. Doesn't this sound amazing? But like any practices, we need to be diligent and keep on practicing on a daily basis to also come back to that harmony and balance. We invite you to have a daily 30-minute practice and you will see the health benefit.
To begin this series, we suggest watching the short introduction video by Hang. The first 6 meridians are based in the arms and the second half is based on the leg meridians. It's up to you how you want to follow the videos by mixing them up or simply follow them in sequential order from 1 to 12. Notice some of the meridians have more than 1 videos to help us dive deeper and for Hang to draw in acupressure points as Hang is also a practitioner of acupressure.
