A summer fresh blooming smile to you. We’re excited to welcome you to Qi Gong school soon.

Below are all the details for the immersion 1 training. We invite you to smile and enjoy your breathing as you read through them.

Please note that we’ll start at 9am by the pond, just behind the KOPI building. You can drive your car to the left of the building.

If you need to use the washroom before we start, you can go through the main KOPI building and the washroom is on your right hand side as you come through the double doors.

TIME
9am to 4pm
Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in so we can start on time.

Because of the smaller group, we’ll likely cover the materials fairly quickly and may finish a bit early.

LOCATION
The training will be held in Kingston East at KOPI-FIT, 812, Unit A John Marks Avenue, Kingston, Ontario K7K 7G1, Canada. KOPIFIT is right beside the Lovell Drugs store. There is plenty of free all-day parking around campus.

For our 9am start, we’ll be meeting by the pond for our morning water practice. Drive pass KOPI-FIT/Lovell Drugs to the main KOPI building and stay on the left to go around the back of the building where the pond is located. If the parking lot near the pond is full, you are welcome to park anywhere on the main entrance side and walk around to the back to the pond. See map below. Bring along a rain jacket in case of light rain. In case it’s a torrential downpour we’ll meet at the main KOPI entrance. The forecast is not calling for rain but you just never know. (-:

WHAT TO BRING

  1. Please bring along your lovely smile and a beginner’s heart.

  2. We’ll be sitting on the floor on a yoga mat and blocks for the lecture parts of the training. The studio will have plenty of yoga mats and blocks for us to use. Bring along anything else you think you might need to help you feel comfy. There are several chairs in the studio for you to use as well, if sitting on the floor isn’t comfortable.

  3. A notebook and pens. We'll provide a manual.

  4. Lunch and lots of snacks.
    Please note: There’s medium-size fridge and microwave at the studio. Lunch will be 30 minutes long so it would be great if you brought your own lunch. With that said, if you don’t feel like making a lunch, we’re only minutes away from a few takeaway places: Tim Horton’s, Starbucks, Domino’s Pizza, Poppey’s, Pita Pit, Maki Sushi and Food Basics.

  5. Your favourite thermos or mug, and your favourite tea. We’ll have a kettle for hot water as well as herbal tea, if you don’t have a preference.

  6. Water bottle - there is a Brita water filter at the studio.

  7. Please wear comfortable exercise attire as we’ll be moving around quite a bit. There’s a lovely lawn area just outside the studio and we might practice Qi Gong there in the morning, weather permitting. Bring comfortable walking shoes, mosquito repellant, hat/cap, sunscreen, sunnies etc.

  8. For your comfort, please bring along a pair of indoor shoes, slippers or sneakers. Kopifit has a no-outside shoes policy. Like a fitness studio, it isn’t 100% clean so we don’t suggest wearing only your socks.

10:45am Qi Gong Theory & Philosophy

1 pm Qi Gong Rest and Digest and More Practices
2pm Theory & Philosophy
3pm Break
3:15 Practice/Workshop/Review
4pm Finish for the day

You will be learning four simple take home Qi Gong sequences and accompanied with Traditional Chinese Tao philosophies throughout the weekend.

SCENT-FREE
In consideration of others who have allergies, including Hang, please attend the training scent-free: no perfume/fragrance/cologne/scented products/essential oils. Thank you.

PHOTOGRAPHY
We respect your privacy and would like to ask for your permission to take photos during the training for social media to help promote the healing Qi Gong practice. We usually take photos from afar and avoid headshots where your face is completely visible. Please privately talk to us at the training if you do not wish to be in the photos.
