A fresh ocean breeze smile to you. We are very excited to welcome you to the in-depth 50-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training in January.

Below are all the details for the training. We invite you to smile and enjoy your breathing as you read through them.

  1. Friday, January 14 at 6pm-9pm

  2. Saturday, January 15 at 9am to 5pm

  3. Sunday, January 16 at 9am to 5pm

  4. Saturday, January 22 at 9am to 5pm

  5. Sunday, January 23 at 9am to 5pm

Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to settle in so we can start on time.

saigon om YIN STYLE
You may have noticed that there are many styles of yin yoga. Some allow you to use props, some don’t. Some focus on physical aspects and some both physical and emotional. Yin yoga originally was created to balance the Yang style practices. Along with Qi Gong, acupressure and acupuncture, Yin yoga also falls under the holistic Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) philosophy. Hang practices both Qi Gong and acupressure so naturally she’ll be bringing meridians and emotional aspects into the course. If you’re interested in energy healing, please come with lots of questions.

BOOKS
There are many yin yoga books as you already know. Most of our training comes from Paul Grilley, the founder who modernized Yin. We’ve included his e-book of here for you, as a bonus. You are welcome to download/print it for your personal use. Yin Yoga Principles and Practices. Most of this will be in our manual at the training PLUS our experience with TCM.

LOCATION
The course will take place at Exhale and Be Studio. The address is Unit 4, 7 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove in the industrial estate (it’s in the same compound as Pinch & Salt). WHAT TO BRING
1) An open heart and a beginner’s mind.
2) For hygienic purposes as well as COVID-safe, please bring your own yoga mat and two identical cork blocks. The studio has a few spare blocks for you to borrow if you don’t have any on hand. If you’d like to purchase your own pair, we hear Rebel Sport has them for $33 each, a pair for $38, includes postage, on Ebay. Altneratively, if you enjoy support a local and family business, our saigon om friend, Shelley & John, in Torquay have them for $20 each + postage Ananda Goods. You may receive a small discount if you mention “Hang & Sarah from saigon om sent me.” We don’t get commission for this but we do enjoy receiving a word of gratitude from this lovely couple.
3) A water bottle (there’s only tap water onsite).
4) Your favourite mug/thermos and your fave tea. We’ll have a kettle and additional organic tea for your enjoyment as well if you’re easy going with tea flavouring.
5) A notebook and pens. We'll provide a comprehensive manual.
6) Lots of snacks and lunch. In case you’d like to leave the studio for lunch: on Saturdays, the Rolling Pin is open and a 5-minute walk from the studio. We’re also a short drive to the Kingston Village shopping area. Please note, there isn’t a fridge at the studio.

WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear comfortable yoga/gym clothes that cover your knees and torso, as we'll be moving around quite a bit. Feel free to layer up and bring a small blanket if you tend to get cold easily during lecture time. Keep in mind it’ll be mid-January when we meet. But then again, we just don’t know what to expect with Victoria weather, do we?
