Dear Qi Gong Friends,

A summer fresh Sunshine Coast smile to you. We hope you had a joyful and restful holiday season. We’re excited to welcome you to Qi Gong school soon.

Below are all the details for the Qi Gong Teacher Training - Level 1. We invite you to firmly anchor your feet, smile and enjoy your breathing as you read through them.

Preparation for the Training

Before we begin the training, if you have not been attending in-person Qi Gong classes with Hang, we encourage you to get familiar with Hang’s teaching style on our virtual studio, which is included in your tuition. Once you create an account on Hey Marvelous (see below), go to “Preparation for the Course” section. We encourage you to practice 8 to 10 hours of Qi Gong before we meet. If your schedule permits, perhaps 30 minutes upon waking up in the morning.

Registration Form

To ensure we have the correct spelling of your name on the certificate and to help us accommodate your training, kindly complete this short registration form by February 5, 2026. Thank you.

Hey Marvelous Account & Two Years of Course Access

Included in your fee is two years access to content and videos. We host our videos with a third party called “Hey Marvelous.” To access the course, joyfully click on the “Course Access” button below, which includes the course manual, “preparation for the course” videos before we meet for our first session, as well as other on-demand course videos that cover gems like theories, Qi Gong practices and the art of teaching.

If you are not already a Hey Marvelous member with saigon om, you will need to create a Hey Marvelous login, using your email address and a password. Don’t forget to bookmark the page URL and keep your login details handy.

Zoom Recording Links

Can't join live? No worries. All of the live calls will be recorded and made available for you to review or follow along in your own time, so you can stay on track at your own pace.

Within two days after each live call, Hang will include the Zoom recording links here for you to download and keep for life. Remember to download them as they are released because Zoom only keeps the videos for 30 days.

Space Required for Zoom Practice

Practical Component:
When we practice Qi Gong, please make sure you have a big enough space with a clear floor to move around. Stand with your arms extended out to the sides and turn around in a big circle with your arms extended. That’s the minimal space you’ll need for the practice :-) Alternatively, if you create a cross with one yoga mat on top of another that should be a big enough space. We encourage you to find a space that is free from distractions i.e. invite your pets and family members into another room. If possible, we suggest putting your phone on silent and out of sight to minimise any distractions.

Theory Component:
Sitting at a desk is preferred for you to take notes when we share and go through some key theories and a Q&A session.

Zoom Details

We will share the Zoom login details in a friendly reminder email about two days prior to the first live call.

Please note that the Zoom sessions are mainly a space for Hang to share the practices and to offer time for questions. We recommend watching the Theories and Art of Teaching videos in Hey Marvelous in your own time during the training timeframe, as these support the live sessions. There’s also a review section for the sequences and practices available in Hey Marvelous.

What You Need for the Training

  1. An open heart and a beginner’s mind

  2. A yoga mat or carpeted space for the practice

  3. Desk space to take notes for the theory component

  4. A water bottle

  5. A notebook and pens

  6. Your Qi Gong manual

Qi Gong Manual

Please download and print (optional) the manual. Bring it along to each time we meet online. You can get access to the manual in the Course Access page or download it here.

What to Wear

Please wear comfortable yoga/gym clothes that cover your knees and torso as we'll be moving around quite a bit.

Schedule

The general structure of the 2.5-hour live sessions:

Welcome Circle (first day)
Guided Qi Gong Practice
Mini-Break (5-10min)
Philosophies & Theories, Q&A
Mini-Break
Review Qi Gong Practice, or Practice Teaching

Throughout the five weeks that we meet on Zoom, you will be invited to teach Qi Gong, starting out with teaching short segments and gradually lengthening the teaching to a full 45-minute class towards the end of the training. If you’re unable to join us for the live calls, you will be required to submit a video of your Qi Gong teaching for the final assessment.

We look forward to sharing the 4000 year-old healing art of Qi Gong with you. Please let us know if you have any questions.

With a smile of gratitude,
Hang & Sarah
