Qi Gong is a 4000 year-old ancient Chinese wellness practice that has its roots in Traditional Chinese Medicine. It is an elegant meditative practice that combines gentle movement, breath, and meditation to create a calm natural balance of energy in body and mind. The best part is that it’s easy and can be practiced standing up or sitting down at any time of the day.

Did you know that the better-known Tai Chi is a form of Qi Gong? The Qi Gong practices we'll be sharing with you are a combination of traditional and modern Qi Gong, including the widely practiced short Yang Tai Chi sequence introduced in Level 3 Teacher Training

Mindfulness is an integral part of saigon om. We will naturally integrate the day to day healing practices with you.

Please note that the four levels need to be completed in order from Level 1 to Level 4.

New to Qi Gong? Follow along this short 10-minute practice with Hang.

History of Qi Gong

The ancient Chinese Taoists, scientists of the subtle energy body and alchemists of the soul’s journey, studied and worked with the circulation of Qi through coordinated flowing movements, deep rhythmic breathing, and meditation. Through subtle yet powerful Qi Gong exercises, meditations, and flowing movements, life-force energy is directed to specific parts of the body, and blocks in the energy body dissolve and radiant Qi flows smoothly into every dimension of the being - emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual.

Qi Gong (pronounced chee-goong) is a word that has several layers. “Qi” means energy or lifeforce. “Gong” means work or skill. Qi Gong, then, is a practice that cultivates and balances the qi.

About the Lead Teacher, Hang Nhan

Hang spent many years (20+ ) practicing and competing in mixed martial arts (MMA), including WTF Taekwondo, Brazillian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Kung Fu, Cali (stick fighting), hand-to-hand combat. She’s known for her unstoppable arm-bar and rear choke techniques.

It was repeated MMA injuries that closed her door of joy and competitive path. It was also a huge blessing that initiated her Qi Gong and Yang Tai Chi journey in Canada and eventually in southern China in 2006 where she spent two solid years diligently deepening her internal martial arts practice in the Lohan system (Shaolin). To further her Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) studies, Hang is a student and practitioner of acupressure and Thai massage, also based on TCM theories.

Hang is known to be a passionate person of what she practices; from Qi Gong to yoga to mindfulness to Reiki to self-defense. As an experienced school teacher, Hang’s teaching style is inclusive, lively & fun! Hang has also written a book called “Self-Defense for Women” from a woman’s perspective.
