Workshop Details:

9:30-11:30am: Joint-Mobility Self-Test
So, you’ve been practicing yoga for a while and can’t seem figure out why you can’t go deeper into certain postures? In this workshop we will briefly cover all of the restrictions that may explain why this may be so. In particular, we will focus in great details on joint limitations. After the workshop you will:

• Gain an insight into your own skeletal system limitations.
• Understand the 8 major joints used in yoga and apply this understanding to work around limitations you may have with your beautiful and blessed body.
• Help understand your own practice and, if you are a yoga teacher, that of your students.
• Keep safe and free from injuries.
• Learn Qi Gong energy activation exercises to keep the joints lubricated and mobile. (Ideal for practitioners with arthritis)

1-3pm: Back to Basics
This beginner’s mind workshop is for both beginners and seasoned yogins. We will be looking at the sun salutation and other foundation postures under a microscope for joint alignments and muscular functions. The objectives of the workshop are to:

• Improve alignment, technique and vinyasa (movement in and out of the poses with the breath).
• Keep safe and free from injuries.
• How to use the breath to flow through your practice.
• Practice Qi Gong energy activation exercises to clear blockages.
• Bring mindfulness to the practice to help go beyond the physical form.
