Research has indicated that a mindful lifestyle can reduce stress & anxiety, cultivate joy, inner peace and overall well-being.

In this course, you will be guided in various mindful activities and assigned homework to deepen your personal practice and growth.

Some of the course content includes:

  • Theories of mindfulness
  • Guided meditation
  • Walking meditation
  • Mindful eating
  • Incorporating mindfulness into everyday life
  • Mindful movement with gentle stretching (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, yoga)

fascia-myofascial-release-workshop-kingston-ontario-canada

Wednesday, August 15, 6-8pm
Full Circle Health Network, 4 Cataraqui Street, Kingston, Ontario
Investment $40

This event has sold out! We're delighted to hold another 2-hour workshop on August 14

Join us for this 2-hour workshop to learn how fascia can restrict our movement and how to work with the body to create strength, flexibility, freedom and space.

Fascia release is gentle, sustained pressure on the soft tissue (fascia) resulting in releasing & lengthening of the fascia.

WHAT IS FASCIA?

Healthy Fascia = Healthy Body & Mind

On the list of most important body parts, right next to the skeleton, comes a less known, but equally as important structure called, fascia. Fascia is comparable to the white “pith” of an orange. Like the white stringy material that holds the slices of an orange together, fascia connects everything in the body together. On a more scientific note, fascia is a connective tissue that supports organs, blood vessels and nerves, forming a flexible web for muscles and bones.

Fascia can be negatively impacted in several instances – physical or emotional trauma, scarring, or inflammation, and even every day stressful situations will cause fascia to become tight, causing stress on the rest of the body. Because of the interconnected nature of fascia, consistent poor posture or repetitive movement patterns can cause our body to hold more tension, and be less flexible, which can lead to anxiety and stress, and even injury.

Keeping fascia healthy keeps our mind and body healthy. During fascial release, pressure is applied to the connective tissue in numerous forms including block work, ball work, and rolling.

Yin Yoga Training in Kingston, Ontario

yin-yoga-training-meditation-mindfulness-kingston-ontario-canada

Date: Saturday, July 28, 2018
Time: 9am - 5pm
Location: Full Circle Health Network, 4 Cataraqui St. Kingston, Ontario
Investment: $160 CAD

This one-day training is designed for both yoga teachers and dedicated yoga practitioners to deepen their Yin yoga practice and knowledge. The training explores Yin anatomy, sequencing, safety in postures, an introduction to meridian theory, and mindfulness.

The long-held postures of Yin yoga provide a welcome contrast to the more modern Western world dynamic Yang dominated practices. Yin creates the space to activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest) and the longer holds work to unwind the body’s deeper layers of fascia and joints.

YIN YOGA:
~ Encourages us to slow down and cultivates stillness to get to know ourselves.
~ Explores the philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the internal energetic pathways, known as meridians or nadis, that carry Qi/Prana or life force.
~ Creates the conditions to release deeply held tension in the body and mind.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
~ Yin Yoga: Theory and Practice
~ Yin Asana: method, cautions & modifications of yin poses
~ Physiology: Anatomy & Biomechanics of Yin Yoga
~ Energetic Anatomy: Chakras & Meridian Theory
~ Mindfulness Cues
~ Practical Application: Basic Yin poses and how to create sequences based on meridian energy channels

WHAT'S INCLUDED:
~Certificate of Completion
~Yin Yoga Workbook Manual

WHO CAN ATTEND THIS TRAINING?
~ Yoga practitioners at all levels who'd like to deepen their yin yoga knowledge and practice.
~ Yoga teachers.
~ We will accommodate and differentiate for all levels of practitioners.

Fascia Release Workshop in Kingston, Ontario

fascia-myofascial-release-workshop-kingston-ontario-canada

Thursday, May 24, 6-8pm
Full Circle Health Network, 4 Cataraqui Street, Kingston, Ontario
Investment $40

Mindfulness Course for Everyday Life, HCMC, Vietnam

Mindfulness Course for Everyday Life (2 sessions)

1. Tues, Nov 28, 6-8pm
2. Thur, Nov 30, 6-8pm

Location: Mandala Wellness - 41 Tran Ngoc Dien, District 2, HCMC

Investment: 1.100.000 VND (for 2 sessions)

This course is about learning to integrate mindfulness in our daily lives. Mindfulness is the energy of being aware and awake to the present moment. It is the continuous practice of touching life deeply in every moment of daily life. To be mindful is to be truly alive, present and at one with ourselves and with those around us.

When we learn the art of mindful living; enjoying our breath, our steps, and the many wonders that each moment offers us, we nourish our happiness and our capacity to be present, look deeply and transform the suffering in ourselves. When the seeds of peace and happiness have grown in our hearts, we can offer that abundance to those around us, doing our part to contribute to the well-being of the world.

Research has indicated that a mindful lifestyle can reduce stress & anxiety, cultivate joy, inner peace and overall well-being, to name a few.

In this course, you will be guided in various mindful activities and assigned homework to deepen your personal practice and growth. Some of the guided course activities include: guided meditation, walking meditation, silent sitting meditation and mindful movements with gentle stretching (Qi Gong, Tai Chi, yoga.) The group setting also helps cultivate and regenerate our mindfulness energy.

Hang and Sarah will be sharing their mindfulness practice and experience in the tradition of Buddhist Zen teacher, author, poet and peace activist Thich Nhat Hanh and the Plum Village spiritual community. We warmly welcome and respect people from all faiths.

This course is suitable for beginner or seasoned meditation practitioners.

Please email Sarah & Hang at saigonom@gmail.com to reserve your place.

The threat of physical violence affects us all, whether it inhibits us from going where we want, when we want or standing up for ourselves in relationships, at school or in the workplace. Effective self-defense training can empower you to move more freely in the world and not let fear restrict your life.

We invite you to this safe and supportive workshop to learn awareness, situation assessment and simple physical techniques. We’ll learn to transform emotions such as fear, anxiety and anger to as a source of power that can allow women to respond effectively in potentially dangerous situations.

Beginners are welcome. This workshop is suitable for girls 13 years or older and women. Please bring something to write with for a self-awareness test.
